HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION May 2011 Dear St. Catharine Families: As this school year shifts into its final weeks there is still much to do as we look forward to a relaxing summer. Coming up is our last fundraising dinner night for this school year. On Tuesday, May 10th, please join us from 5-8 pm at Chipotle in Bexley and help support our school. We will receive a 50% (!!!) rebate on all meals purchased. Please remember to present the attached fundraising flyer to your cashier. You can also email copies to your family and friends or download one at the school website. (Here is a link to that flyer): Chipotle Flyer A big thank you to all of our rummage sale and flower sale volunteers and to the respective committee chairs. We could not have had the success we did without all of your efforts. The rummage sale made over $4,100! Please remember that the flower sale pick up dates are Friday, 5/6 and Saturday, 5/7. You can also purchase additional flowers and herbs at the sale so please stop by and check out the beautiful selection! The summer uniform swap is changing dates this year! It will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 4-6pm in the school cafeteria. We will also be selling Spiritwear during the sale! Come in and check out our great selection of St. Catharine Spirit Apparel! If you have any uniforms that you wish to donate you can either send them into school or drop them off the day of the sale. We would like to wish all our St. Catharine 8th grade students and their families good luck as you move on to your high school careers. It is always bittersweet to see you go! Lastly, we would like to welcome our two newest Home and School Board Members: Mindy Sybert was elected Vice-President and Missy Bedell was elected Treasurer for the 2011-2012 school year. The meetings, which are always open to the school community, are held on the 2nd Monday of each month in the school library at 3:30 p.m. We hope that everyone has a very productive last month and a safe and happy summer! HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION March 2011 It's amazing how quickly the school year is flying by! We want to thank everyone who came out to support St. Catharine at the Graystone Wine Cellar dinner. It was a great evening! Some upcoming events: March 2nd is the next skating party at United Skates of America. We appreciate everyone who attended our last skating party and hope more families will be able to attend in March. April 2nd is the bi-annual rummage sale. Please save those items you come accross while spring cleaning! Finally, March begins the time when we begin the process of selecting new members to the Home and School Board. While I have truly enjoyed serving on the board, soon it will be time for our Vice-President, Karen Page to take over as President and we will elect a new vice-president. Additionally, Betsy Carfagna is completing her term as Treasurer. We are therfore seeking nominations of individuals who would be willing to run for the posts of Vice-President and Treasurer. A description of the responsibilities is below. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else in the school for one of these positions, please fill out the form included in the Parent Pack and return it to school. Happy spring! Will attend monthly board meetings. Assumes the role of President the following year. Will conduct board meeting in the absence of the President. Treasurer (2 year term): Will keep the Association check book, pay bills, receive funds, reconcile records with bank statements, and make deposits. Will attend monthly board meetings and help with various Board events, fundraisers, etc...
February 2011 Dear St. Catharine Families: We want to wish everyone a happy and blessed Catholic Schools Week. We are all very fortunate to have such a great school as St. Catharine. Coming up very soon is our annual Graystine Wine Cellar Dinner on Saturday, February 5th at 7:00 pm. Registration is going on now! You won't want to miss it! If you have an item or service that you would like to donate to the silent auction, please contact Katie at krennard2@sbcglobal.net or 497-0910. We are very grateful for the continued support of our school and parish families! Thank you to all who braved the snow to attend our City Barbeque fundraiser. We raised approximately $123.49! We hope to be able to offer other restaurant fundraisers in the future so stay tuned. February is bonus month for cookie dough from Market Day. We hope you will consider placing an order this month. The order form is included in your parent pack or you can order online at www.marketday.com. Save the date for the St. Catharine Rummage Sale! It will be held on Saturday, April 2nd. As you spring clean, please consider donating any unwanted items to the sale! Volunteer opportunities will be available too. More information will be sent home in the coming months. Many thanks to all of you who volunteer both at school and within the parish. You truly help to keep our school and parish community vibrant. December, 2010 Dear St. Catharine Families, It's hard to believe that December is upon us! Thank you to everyone who helped make our wreath sale a big success. A special thank you to Diame Mauk and Jenny Magistro for organizing this event. Our November Market Day Pie Sale was also a big success. Thank you for your orders! Thank you to Brealie Caridi and her team of volunteers for their efforts. We hope that everyone is enjoying their new Callers. We do still have some available for purchase if you find that you need an extra one. Please Contact Katie Rennard if you would like to purchase one. Lastly, save the date for February 5th, 2011! The Home and School Association is once again hosting its annual dinner and silent auction at the Graystone Wine Cellar. Information and registration will be sent home in the January Parent Pack. Thanks to all our St. Catharine volunteers. You make a difference every day and help to make our school a better place. We thank you!
